Free Iftars at the Third Holiest Site in Islam Masjid al-Aqsa is the third holiest site in Islam, and this Ramadan, all meals to start and end the fast will be provided free there. The initiative by Human Appeal International aims to feed 175,000 people throughout the month, as well as energize local business and employment opportunities for Muslims in Jerusalem. In addition to the social and financial benefits, there is also the well-established spiritual practice of giving food to someone who is breaking their fast. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person.” (Sunan at-Tirmidhi)
An iftar meal is provided for every $10 donation made to the initiative. [callout bt_content=’More Information’ bt_link=’https://bit.ly/2ru7Few’]Support this cause and break the fast of those at Al-Aqsa Mosque[/callout]
