Why isn’t Stephen Paddock being called a terrorist?

Stephen Paddock has just unleashed what has turned out to be America’s most deadliest mass shooting in the nation’s modern history. Why isn’t he being labelled a terrorist? Even though there are 50 dead and hundreds more injured in Las Vegas, Nevada, we are still yet to hear any official confirmation that Stephen Paddock is a terrorist. This is despite the fact that Nevada law clearly states terrorism as any act that intends by way of violence to inflict “great bodily harm or death to the general population”. Many are calling this a clear case of white privilege and are demanding answers. This is particularly the case when news outlets across the world have opted to shed light on Paddock’s love for country music and gambling, to somewhat normalise his public image. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this unfortunate tragedy.
