What’s the best ibadah to do when I have some free time?
Whenever you catch yourself with nothing to do, you might be stuck in traffic or in a waiting room and haven’t got the energy or time to do anything else – Do some Thikr. It can be as simple as saying SubhanAllah, Alhamdulilah, La’ilaha ilaAllah and AllahuAkbar as much as you can. Aboo Hurayrah reported: The Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ) said, “The uttering of the words:‘SubhanAllaah (Glory be to Allah), Alhamdulillah (all Praise is to Allah), Laa ilaha illAllah (there is no God but Allah), and AllahuAkbar (Allah is the Greatest)’ is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises.” (Muslim)And if you have even more time: Narrated Abu Hurayrah: Allah’s Apostle (ﷺ) said,سُبْحَانَ اللّهِ ، والْحَمْدُللّهِ ، وَ لا اِلهَ اِلَّا اللّهُ ، وَ اللّهُ اَكْبَرُ
“Whoever says, ‘SubhanAllah wa bihamdih (Glory is to Allah and all Praise is to Him),’ one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea.” (Bukhari)And this one: Narrated Abu Hurayrah: Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said,سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ
”Whoever says one hundred times in a day: ‘Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay-in qadeer’, he will get the same reward as given for freeing ten slaves, one hundred good deeds will be written in his account, one hundred sins will be deducted from his account, and it will be a shield for him from Shaytaan on that day till night; and nobody will be able to do a better deed except the one who does more than he.” (Bukhari)The best thing about making Thikr is you don’t even need Wudu’ to perform this Thikr, yet the rewards are immense. So take advantage of your free time this month and do Thikr!
