These NFL Players are boycotting an official state-sponsored trip to Israel after details emerged the trip would be used as propaganda for Israel. Michael Bennett from Seattle Seahawks posted an open letter on Twitter outlining his reasons for boycotting the trip.
He explained how he has always been inspired by Muhammad Ali, a long supporter of Palestine, to be a “voice for the voiceless” and he would like to follow in his footsteps.
Bennett stated, “One of my heroes has always been Muhammad Ali. I know that Ali always stood strongly with the Palestinian people, visiting refugee camps, going to rallies, and always willing to be a “voice for the voiceless.” I want to be a “voice for the voiceless,” and I cannot do that by going on this kind of trip to Israel.
