Preparing for Ramadan – Part 1
It’s that time of the year again – Ramadan. The climax of the Islamic year! The month where the Quran was revealed. The month which contains the Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power) which is worth more than a thousand months! But as we’ve approached this blessed month, we must learn how to prepare for Ramadan in order to make the best out of it!
The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months.
So how do we approach such a significant month? How do we prepare ourselves to attain the maximum benefits from it?
“O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you1—so perhaps you will become mindful ˹of Allah˺.”
Ramadan was a month for which the Sahabah (companions of The Prophet ﷺ) would prepare 6 months in advance. Then after Ramadan, they would spend the next 6 months holding themselves accountable from Ramadan. Their entire year revolved around Ramadan!
“…And to fast is better for you, if only you knew.”
With Ramadan around the corner, what do we have to do to prepare ourselves so that we may extract the rewards of this extraordinary month?
