Learning from the elders<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prophet\u2019s Grandfather, Abdul Muttalib, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">used to sit on a mattress near the Ka&#8217;bah. Prophet Muhammad <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was always with him observing all the conversations between <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the elders of Quraysh. Abdul Muttalib would always say that his grandchild Muhammad is going to be a very significant person one day. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We should have intellectual conversations with our children and make them feel that we are proud of them. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>2. Language and Fitness<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Customs in Quraysh entailed that newborns be sent to the desert to learn the proper Arabic language as well as to gain physical strength from a young age. The Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was sent with Halima As-Sa\u2019diyya (his milk mother) to Banu Sa\u2019d (the tribe of Sa\u2019d) where he gained his eloquence and strength. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We should all strive to teach our kids the language of the Quran and take care of their physicality. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>3.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/au\/how-to-achieve-a-sound-heart\/\"><b>Having a Pure Heart<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was narrated by Anas ibn Maalik that Jibreel came to the Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">when he was playing with the other boys. He took hold of him and threw him to the ground, then he opened his chest and took out his heart, from which he took a clot of blood and said: \u201cThis was the Shaytaan\u2019s share of you.\u201d Then he washed it in a vessel of gold that was filled with Zamzam. Then he put it back together and returned it to its place. The boys went running to his mother \u2013 meaning his nurse \u2013 and said: Muhammad has been killed! They went to him and his colour had changed. Anas said: I used to see the mark of that stitching on his chest. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sunnah.com\/muslim\/1\/320\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Muslim<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/studentsofknowledge.org\/biography-of-prophet-seerah\/question-21-washing-of-prophet-sawss-heart\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ibn Katheer <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said in Tafseer Al-Quran Il-\u2018Azeem: <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allah says \u201cHave We not opened your breast for you (O Muhammad)?\u201d meaning, did We not open your heart for you, i.e., We illuminated it etc. This is like the verse in which Allah says : \u201cAnd whomsoever Allah wills to guide, He opens his heart to Islam.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Soorah al-An\u2019aam, 6:125) <\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The incident of the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) washing the heart of the Prophet can be taken as a lesson. We should perfect our children\u2019s faith by letting them emulate Prophet\u2019s <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa pure character<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>4. Staying Active<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sports is essential for our children\u2019s development. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has told us to practice archery and horseback riding <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sunnah.com\/tirmidhi\/22\/19\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At-Tirmidhi<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is also reported that the Prophet learned how to swim at a young age while on a trip to Yathrib (Al-Madinah today) with his mother. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>5.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/au\/dealing-with-family-issues\/\"><b>Keeping Ties of Kinship<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When the Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was about 6 years old, his mother Aminah took him with her to Yathrib (Al-Madinah) to visit his maternal uncles. This created a bond between the Prophet<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and Al-Madinah which became his home later.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teach your kids the importance of family from a young age. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>6.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/au\/when-was-the-last-time-you-thanked-your-mother\/\"><b>The Importance of Mothers<\/b><\/a><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the way back from that same trip to Madinah, the Prophet\u2019s mother Aminah passed away on the borders of Makkah when he was only 6 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fifty years later, as the Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> was making his way to the opening of Makkah (Fath Makkah), <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he visited the grave of his mother and he wept and moved others around him to tears. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sunnah.com\/muslim\/11\/135\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Muslim<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teach your kids to love their mothers like our Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> loved his mother.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>7. The Reliance on Allah Alone <\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the age of 8, the Prophet\u2019s grandfather Abdul Muttalib passed away leaving the Prophet <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\ufdfa<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> an orphan with no guardian.
