Benefits of sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad<\/span><\/h1>\n

Sending peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad<\/strong><\/em> is not only highly virtuous but something many Muslims are unfortunately not doing enough. In hopes of inspiring you to pick up the great habit of consistently sending blessings on the Prophet Muhammad\u00a0\ufdfa , we have put together a short list of benefits one achieves by doing so.<\/span><\/p>\n

You are fulfilling a command of Allah<\/b><\/h2>\n

Allah clearly commands the believers in the Quran to send blessings on the Prophet Muhammad\ufdfa. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIndeed, Allah and His Angels send blessing upon the Prophet. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to send] blessing upon him and peace\u201d<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

All your concerns will be lifted<\/b><\/h2>\n

When the companion <\/span>Ubai Ibn Ka\u2019ab <\/span><\/i>asked the Messenger what would happen if he dedicated all of his supplications towards sending blessings on the Prophet Muhammad\u00a0\ufdfa .<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prophet replied \u201cYour needs will be satisfied and your sins will be forgiven\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ubai bin Ka\u2019ab (may Allah be pleased with him), who said; \u2018I said, \u2018O Messenger of Allah, I supplicate often, so how much of my supplication should I devote to you?\u2019 He replied, \u2018as you desire\u2019. I said, \u2018a quarter of it?\u2019 He said \u2018as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.\u2019 I said, \u2018half of it?\u2019 He said, \u2018as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.\u2019 I said, <\/i>\u2018two-thirds of it?\u2019 He said again, \u2018as you desire, but if you were to increase upon this, it would be better for you.\u2019 Finally I said, \u2018and if I dedicate my supplication in its entirety to you?\u2019 He said, \u2018then your needs will be satisfied, and your sins forgiven.\u2019<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

Allah will send blessings on you<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa said: \u201cWhoever sends blessings upon me, Allah will send blessings upon him tenfold\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n

(Sahih Muslim, 384).<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Prophet will receive and return your greetings<\/b><\/h2>\n

Abdullah ibn Mas\u2019ood said: The Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said: \u201cAllah has angels who go around on earth, conveying to me the Salaam of my Ummah.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

(An-Nisa\u2019i)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said: \u201cThere is no one who sends Salaam upon me, but Allaah will restore to me my soul so that I may return his Salaam.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your sins will be forgiven<\/b><\/h2>\n

Anas Ibn Malak reported that the Messenger of Allah (\ufdfa) said: “Whoever sends blessings upon me once, Allah… will erase ten sins from him, and will raise him ten degrees in status.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

(An-Nisa\u2019i Sahih)<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It will draw you closer to the Prophet<\/b><\/h2>\n

\u2018Abdullah ibn Mas\u2018ood that the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa said: \u201cThe closest of people to me on the Day of Resurrection will be those who sent the most blessings upon me.\u201d \u00a0<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

(At-Tirmidhi, 484)<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Imam Nawawi states, \u201cNearest to me\u201d signifies \u201cthose who are most entitled to my intercession\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Umar Ibn Khattab said, \u201cDuaa is suspended between heaven and earth and none of it is taken up until you send blessings upon your Prophet \ufdfa\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n
