When was the last time you thanked your mother?<\/span><\/h1>\nWe gathered a group of young children to record some heartfelt messages to their mothers. This was their response.<\/span>\n\nAs Muslims, kindness and obedience to one\u2019s parents is a crucial part of our faith. God Almighty, Allah, will also constantly implore humanity repeatedly throughout the Quran to show mercy and kindness to our parents, particularly our mothers. The Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa would also often highlight and emphasise the importance of looking after one\u2019s parents.<\/span>\n
Allah states in the Quran:\n\n\u201cAnd We have enjoined upon man, to his parents, good treatment. His mother carried him with hardship and gave birth to him with hardship, and his gestation and weaning [period] is thirty months.”\n\nQuran 46:15<\/i><\/strong>\n\nAnd your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], “uff,” and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: \u2018My Lord! Bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood’ ”\n\nQuran 17:23<\/i><\/strong>\n\nThe Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa also returned a man wishing to engage in a military expedition to his mother, by stating that \u201cStay with her, because Paradise is at her feet\u201d.\n\nMusnad Imam Ahmad<\/i><\/strong>\n\nA man also came to the Prophet and said, \u2018O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, \u2018Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, \u2018Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, \u2018Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father.\n\nBukhari and Muslim<\/i><\/strong><\/blockquote>\n \n\nMay Allah bless all our mothers and grant them the Highest of Paradise.<\/span>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
