The Farewell Sermon of the Prophet \ufdfa<\/span><\/h1>\nOur Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa only performed one Hajj, the\u201dFarewell Hajj\u201d (Hajj Al-Wadah) and he \ufdfa passed away shortly after. <\/span>\n\nDuring his Farewell Hajj, the Prophet \ufdfa delivered his last sermon (Khutbah) on the ninth of Dhul Hijjah ,10 years after Hijrah (migration to Madinah), in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat.<\/span>\n\nHere are 8 key points from this immensely important sermon:<\/span>\n

The awareness of satan <\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cSatan has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things\u201d<\/span>\n

The Importance of Da\u2019wah<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cO People, lend me an attentive ear, and take these words to those who could not be present here today\u201d<\/span>\n

Sacredness of life and property<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cReturn the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you\u201d<\/span>\n

Accountability before Allah<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cRemember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.\u201d<\/span>\n

The prohibition of interest<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cAll usury is abolished, but your capital belongs to you. Wrong not and you shall not be wronged.\u201d<\/span>\n

Kindness towards women<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cIndeed you [men] have rights over women, but they also have rights over you\u2026 fear Allah in respect to women, and concern yourselves with their welfare.\u201d<\/span>\n

Racial equality<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cThere is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, nor of a non-Arab over an Arab, nor of a white over a black, nor of a black over a white, only in God-consciousness (taqwa).\u201d<\/span>\n

Islam being the final and complete religion<\/b><\/h2>\n\u201cO people, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born… I have left you with something which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and the sunnah of His Prophet.\u201d<\/span>\n\nThe Prophet ended his sermon by saying;\n
\u201cBe my witness O Allah, that I have conveyed your message to your people.”<\/blockquote>\nThe final verse of the Qur\u2019an was then revealed to him and he recited it to the people:<\/span>\n
