How well do you know Khadijah, the wife of Prophet Muhammad?<\/span><\/h2>\n

She is the daughter of Khuwayled, who was considered royalty in Mecca.<\/span><\/p>\n

She was married and widowed twice and was nicknamed \u201cAttahira\u201d (The Pure One) <\/span><\/p>\n

Khadijah managed her father\u2019s trading business and after he passed, she was able to turn his caravan into one of the biggest in Mecca at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Prophet<\/a> \ufdfa started leading caravans and he was a great tradesman. Khadijah (RA) was intrigued by his honourable \u00a0reputation and therefore offered him a job. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although she was 15 years his senior, Khadijah RA was charmed by the prophet\u2019s honesty and noble character, that she proposed to him, indirectly, through her friend Nafisah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Revelation<\/h3>\n

Before the revelation of the Quran the Prophet \ufdfa used to go to the cave of \u201cHira\u2019a\u201d where he\u2019d stay in seclusion for days. Khadijah was very supportive of her husband, and it is reported that she used to climb the mountain and bring him food. <\/span><\/p>\n

When Jibreel AS came down to the Prophet (pbuh) with revelation, He (\ufdfa) seeked comfort in Khadijah (RA) saying \u201cZammilooni\u201d \u201cEmbrace me and cover me up\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

Khadijah reassured him and told him, \u201c<\/span>Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good ties with kinship, tell the truth, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Sahih Bukhari<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

These words describe the love and respect Khadijah RA had for her husband.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, her memory stayed with the Prophet <\/span>\ufdfa<\/span>\u00a0his whole life, he kept his connection with her family and friends and used to send some of them presents. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her support to the prophet <\/span>\ufdfa<\/span>\u00a0didn\u2019t go unnoticed.<\/span><\/p>\n

Allah was pleased with Khadijah (RA) so much so that He sent her salam by means of an angel. Jibreel (AS) not only conveyed this exalted salam, he also sent his own greetings to Khadija.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

Allah also promised Khadijah \u201ca house in heaven where there is no noise or weariness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
