What is the evil eye?<\/b><\/h1>\n

The Arabic word\u00a0al-\u2018ayn<\/i>\u00a0(translated as the evil eye) refers to when a person harms another with his eye. It starts when the person likes a thing, then his evil feelings affect it by means of his repeated looking at the object of his jealousy.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not for nothing that\u00a0 Allah taught His Prophet to seek refuge with Him from the evil of the envier in a\u00a0surah<\/i>\u00a0you should use yourself for protection:\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n\n

\n

Wa min sharri haasidin idhaa hasad\u2014 And from the evil of the envier when he envies . . .<\/i>\u00a0[Quran.113:5]<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Steps to protect yourself from The Evil Eye<\/b><\/h2>\n

1. Recite Duaa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

\n

\u201cOh Allah I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil He has created\u201d.\n(Sahih Muslim)<\/p>\n

\u201cI seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, every poisonous reptile and every evil eye\u201d.\n(Sahih Bukhari)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

2. Read the Quran<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

i. Surah Baqarah<\/p>\n

The Prophet of Allah (pbuh) said: \u201cSatan runs away from the house in which Surah Al-Baqara is recited.\u201d<\/p>\n

ii. Surah Falaq and Naas<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Messenger of Allah\u00a0\ufdfa<\/span>\u00a0used to seek refuge with Allah from the jinn and from the evil eye until the Mu\u2019wadaitain (Surah Falaq and Surah Naas) were revealed, and whey they were revealed He started to recite them and not anything else.\u201d<\/p>\n

iii. Ayat Al Kursi<\/p>\n

Abu Hurairah reported: [A thief who was trying to steal the sadaqah] said:\u00a0\u201cWhen you go to bed, recite Ayatul Kursi for then a guardian from Allah will be appointed to watch over you, and Shaytan cannot approach you till dawn.\u201d<\/b>\u00a0When the Prophet\u00a0\ufdfa<\/span>\u00a0heard, he replied: \u201cHe told you the truth though he is a liar. He (the thief) was the Shaytan.\u201d<\/p>\n
