Who said Islam and Science don’t mix?<\/strong><\/em><\/h1>\nMuslims hold the status of knowledge and education very highly, as it’s blessings are vast and both Allah and our Prophet\u00a0\ufdfa<\/span>\u00a0<\/span> <\/span>instructed and informed us of its importance. In Islam, there is little distinction between religion and knowledge, as both were originally taught in a Mosque. Knowledge included science, and it sat comfortably with religion, unlike many other parts of the world. All four founders of the Muslim schools of law; Imam Abu Hanifa, Imam Malik, Imam Shafi\u2019i, and Imam Ibn Hanbal \u2013 gained their vast knowledge in mosque gatherings. All 3 holiest sites in Islam, the Haram in Makkah, Masjid al-Nabawi in Madinah, and Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem \u2013 regularly have scholars that preach and teach, open to all those who want to benefit.\n
A Danish historian, Johannes Pedersen, claimed that learning, \u201cwas intimately bound with religion…to devote oneself to both…afforded…inner satisfaction and\u2026 service to God\u201d<\/blockquote>\nAside from the importance of knowledge, the Holy Quran contains formal teachings and facts given that were provided over 1400 years ago yet only recently scientifically \u2018discovered\u2019.\n\nThe production of milk and pulmonary blood circulation:\n
\u201cAnd indeed, for you in grazing livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from what is in their bellies – between excretion and blood – pure milk, palatable to drinkers.\u201d<\/i>\n\nQuran 16:66<\/blockquote>\nThe theory of Big Bang\/ the creation of Universe:\n
\u201cHave those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?\u201d<\/i>\n\n

Islam and science<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nQuran 21:30<\/blockquote>\nThe alteration of Day and Night:\n
\u201cHe created the heavens and earth in truth. He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term. Unquestionably, He is the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver.\u201d<\/i>\n\nQuran 39:5<\/blockquote>\nThe expansion of universe:\n
\u201cAnd the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.\u201d<\/i>\n\nQuran 51:47<\/blockquote>\nThe Flight of Birds:\n
\u201cDo they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah . Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.\u201d<\/i>\n\nQuran 16:79<\/blockquote>\nThe bees and their honey:\n
\u201cAnd your Lord inspired to the bee, “Take for yourself among the mountains, houses, and among the trees and [in] that which they construct. Then eat from all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord laid down [for you].” There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colours, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought.\u201d<\/i>\n\nQuran 16:68-69<\/blockquote>\nThe miracle of the freshwater and saltwater that never mix:\n
\u201cHe released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. So which of the favours of your Lord would you deny?\u201d<\/i>\n\nQuran 55:19-21<\/blockquote>\nSimilarly, there are further scientific facts mentioned in the Holy Quran about Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Geology, and Hydrology etc.\n\nIn fact, it was Muslims who helped invent and discover mathematics, trigonometry, chemistry, vision and cameras, instruments of surgery, universities, navigational methods, astronomy and so much more!
