When asked who would build it, he replied, &#8220;We&#8217;re going to build the hospital.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mission is about more than just bricks and mortar. It\u2019s a project designed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Provide Tangible Change: <\/strong>A physical place where Palestinian children can receive care from Australian doctors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Heal Global Divisions: <\/strong>By uniting diverse communities (Muslim, Jewish, Indigenous, and more) under the shared cause of protecting innocent children.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Restore Faith in Humanity: <\/strong>Show the Middle East a Western country dedicated to healing children, not harming them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe hospital is not just about healing Gaza,\u201d he emphasises. \u201cIt&#8217;s about healing here, Australia. It&#8217;s about healing our society.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-miracles-amidst-the-rubble\">Miracles Amidst the Rubble<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the overwhelming horror, Dr Mustafa witnessed moments that defied explanation, miracles of faith and human spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He shares the story of a cardiothoracic surgeon who, after an hour of failed cardiac massage on a patient with a shrapnel injury to the heart, let a student take over. The student held the heart, performing the massage while reciting Surah Al-Baqarah from the Quran. After two hours, when everyone had given up, the heart started beating again. That patient is still alive today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Dr Mustafa, this is a powerful lesson. His hospital project faces immense barriers, with organisations telling him it\u2019s impossible. But like that student, he refuses to give up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe&#8217;re naive enough, and we&#8217;re foolish enough to keep going,\u201d he says with determination. \u201cIf Allah&#8217;s written something for you, it&#8217;ll happen&#8230; You live between hope and despair.
