{"id":13071,"date":"2019-05-30T14:56:02","date_gmt":"2019-05-30T14:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/?p=13071"},"modified":"2021-07-16T10:08:46","modified_gmt":"2021-07-16T10:08:46","slug":"be-like-the-prophet-%ef%b7%ba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/au\/spirituality\/be-like-the-prophet-%ef%b7%ba\/","title":{"rendered":"Be like the Prophet \ufdfa | Questions with Dr. Omar Abdel Kafi"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/amp-jwplayer>ENGLISH TRANSCRIPTION<\/strong><\/em>\n\nWe thank Allah and send peace and blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa<\/span>\n\nHow do I persist on performing the Sunnah or Prophetic actions?<\/span>\n\nThe persistence on Sunnah acts is part of preserving our religion <\/span>\n\nBecause the Sunnah is complementary to the Book of Allah SWT<\/span>\n\nUnfortunately, people associate the Sunnah with voluntary extra actions <\/span>\n\nSo you hear them say, <\/span>\n\nSunnah is performing two extra prayers after Maghrib prayer, <\/span>\n\nAnd the remembrance (Dhikr) after prayers, <\/span>\n\nAnd so and so\u2026<\/span>\n\nThere are Sunnah acts that are acts of worship and <\/span>\n\nThere are Sunnah actions which are considered natural instincts<\/span>\n\nLike cutting one\u2019s nails, growing your beard\u2026 \u00a0<\/span>\n\nThese Sunnah actions are part of human\u2019s natural instincts <\/span>\n\nAs per Sunnah as a form of worship, there are different levels of those <\/span>\n\nBut the Sunnah acts I want to discuss are those that are performed in our daily actions <\/span>\n\nSo people start seeing the Prophetic ways through my daily dealings and actions <\/span>\n\nThat people witness a portion of the light of the Prophet \ufdfa<\/span>\n\nIn my words, actions, movements, and dealings<\/span>\n\nSo people would start saying this Person is Muslim <\/span>\n\nThis person is treading on the Prophetic path of Muhammad\ufdfa <\/span>\n\nThis person has a connection to Allah because <\/span>\n\nHe resembles the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet \ufdfa <\/span>\n\nSome of the pious predecessors have reached such <\/span>\n\nA high level in performing these Sunnah acts \u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\n\nLike Sahl Ibn Abdullah may Allah send mercy upon his soul <\/span>\n\nHe used to refrain from eating watermelon <\/span>\n\nAnd people would ask him, why and if there is something wrong with the watermelon <\/span>\n\nAnd he\u2019d say that he hadn\u2019t received any knowledge of<\/span>\n\nHow the Prophet\ufdfa used to eat it <\/span>\n\nOh, Allah, these people have reached a very high status <\/span>\n\nAbdullah Ibn Umar was once on his camel\u2019s back <\/span>\n\nAnd he made a full 360 degree turn with the camel <\/span>\n\nWhen asked why he did that <\/span>\n\nHe said that he saw the Prophet \ufdfa do that so he did the same without asking why <\/span>\n\nUmar Ibn Al-Khattab used to say to the Black stone whenever he sees it <\/span>\n\nI know that you are a stone and you can\u2019t benefit or harm anyone<\/span>\n\nAnd if I hadn\u2019t seen the Prophet \ufdfa kissing you I would never have kissed a stone <\/span>\n\nThere are certain things in life that we have to accept <\/span>\n\nSubmitting and surrendering to them <\/span>\n\nSubmitting like our Prophet Ibrahim <\/span>\n\nWhen his Lord said to him, <\/span>\n
“Submit”, he said “I have submitted [in Islam] to the Lord of the worlds.” <\/span>\n\n(Quran 2:131)<\/span><\/blockquote>\nOh Allah make our hearts surrender to your will <\/span>\n\nAnd help us to follow the Prophetic Sunnah.<\/span>\n\nPeace and blessings be upon you <\/span>\n\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
