{"id":12949,"date":"2019-05-15T16:39:09","date_gmt":"2019-05-15T16:39:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/?p=12949"},"modified":"2021-07-16T10:18:28","modified_gmt":"2021-07-16T10:18:28","slug":"societal-pressures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onepathnetwork.com\/au\/arabic\/societal-pressures\/","title":{"rendered":"Societal Pressures | Questions with Dr. Omar Abdel Kafi"},"content":{"rendered":"<\/amp-jwplayer>ENGLISH TRANSCRIPTION<\/em><\/strong>\n\nI thank Allah Almighty, and peace and blessings are upon his Messenger Muhammad \ufdfa.<\/span>\n\nWhat is a person supposed to do when faced by all these obstacles and tribulations whether in this modern society or other societies around the world?<\/span>\n\nWhen these societies might go against our standards and beliefs and the rulings that Allah has decreed upon us?<\/span>\n\nA sheik once asked his pupil, \u201cO\u2019 son! Imagine a sheepdog started barking at you, what do you do?\u201d<\/span>\n\n\u201cI\u2019ll scold him\u201d, the student responded.<\/span>\n\nThe Sheikh then said, \u201cAnd if he started barking again?\u201d<\/span>\n\n\u201cI\u2019ll scold him again\u201d, the student replied. <\/span>\n\n\u201cIf he keeps barking\u201d, the sheik exclaimed!<\/span>\n\n\u201cHe said I\u2019ll scold him\u201d, the student said. <\/span>\n\nThe Sheik then told him, this is a matter that\u2019s going to take longer and will never be fruitful. <\/span>\n\nSo the student asked, \u201cWhat am I supposed to do then?\u201d<\/span>\n\n\u201cYou stand next to the Shepherd\u201d, the Sheik explained. <\/span>\n\nBe with the Shepherd, and Allah has the best example. <\/span>\n\nAllah swt is the one that tends to his servants. <\/span>\n\nAnd He is the Rubb (Lord) who teaches us and is the most kind to us \u00a0<\/span>\n\nAnd he is the Ilaah (The Divine One) who we are connected to <\/span>\n\nThe One God whom we love<\/span>\n\nThe One who sees you whatever you\u2019re doing and knows when you are worshipping him in Sujud. (Prostration)<\/span>\n\nHow do I protect myself during these tribulations, <\/span>\n\nBy increasing my threshold or immunity to these situations, <\/span>\n\nJust like we increase a child\u2019s immunity by administering vaccines to them through the years. <\/span>\n\nThe vaccine to the heart is when you follow the rulings in the Quran, <\/span>\n\nWhen you follow the Prophet\u2019s \ufdfa sunnah in his actions and words<\/span>\n\nAnd when you follow the footsteps of the companions as role models <\/span>\n\nIf you fortify yourself and your Imaan (faith) with these, and you have good company<\/span>\n\nThen the outside societal pressures decrease and you won\u2019t care as much about the outside pressures, <\/span>\n
Cause \u201cIndeed, Allah is with those who fear Him and those who are doers of good.\u201d <\/span>\n\n(Quran 16:128)<\/span><\/blockquote>\nAnd Allah knows best.<\/span>\n\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
