This is how to have a Blessed Marriage<\/span><\/h1>\nWhen the husband of Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, tragically passed away, she made the Duaa we are taught to make at the time of tribulation; and that is:<\/span>\n

\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0647\u064f\u0645\u0651\u064e \u0623\u0652\u062c\u064f\u0631\u0652\u0646\u0650\u064a \u0641\u0650\u064a \u0645\u064f\u0635\u0650\u064a\u0628\u064e\u062a\u0650\u064a \u0648\u064e\u0623\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0642\u0650\u0628\u0652\u0646\u0650\u064a \u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064b\u0627 \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0627<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOh Allah reward me for my calamity and replace me with something better\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

However upon making this supplication, she was left quite intrigued and responded by saying:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0648\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0646\u0652 \u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064c \u0645\u0650\u0646\u0652 \u0623\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a \u0633\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0645\u064e\u0629\u064e<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAnd who is better than Abu Salamah?\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\nThe truth was, she honestly could not believe that there was anyone better than her husband. Now, of course, we all know that she went on to marry the Prophet of Allah, Muhammad \ufdfa and he was indeed far greater than any other man.<\/span>\n\nBut the point we need to establish is that she genuinely did not think anyone was better than her husband. And this is a key point for all Muslim couples to take home.<\/span>\n\nThe fact of the matter is, the reason why she thought there was no one better than her husband; was because he lived by the clear Quranic principle:<\/span>\n

\u0648\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0627\u0634\u0650\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0647\u064f\u0646\u0651\u064e \u0628\u0650\u0627\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0631\u064f\u0648\u0641\u0650<\/span><\/p>\n

And live with them in kindness<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Quran 4:19<\/span><\/i><\/p>\nA clear injunction to both men and women to live with one another in kindness and respect. This is the founding principle of Islamic marriages and the key reason that would make couples realise that they are to one another the best possible spouse.<\/span>\n\nThe Prophet \ufdfa understood love and marriage more than any other human. The perfection of character that he \ufdfa displayed specifically within a marriage is greatly beneficial to study to enhance our own marriage and ensure they are blessed. He \ufdfa <\/span>said:\n

\u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064f\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064f\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0644\u0650\u0623\u064e\u0647\u0652\u0644\u0650\u0647\u0650\u060c \u0648\u064e\u0623\u064e\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u062e\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064f\u0643\u064f\u0645\u0652 \u0644\u0650\u0623\u064e\u0647\u0652\u0644\u0650\u064a<\/span><\/p>\n

“The best among you is he who is the best with his family. Verily, I am the best one among you with my family.”<\/em> (Tirmidhi)<\/p>\nIt was the practice of the Messenger of Allah \ufdfa <\/span>to be kind, cheerful, playful with his wives, compassionate, spending on them and laughing with them. The Messenger used to race with with his wife Aishah, the Mother of the believers, as a means of playfulness with her. Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said:\n

“The Messenger of Allah raced with me and I won the race.
