\u201cAllah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah . That is the guidance of Allah by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray – for him there is no guide.\u201d<\/span><\/i>\n\n (<\/span>Quran 39:23<\/span><\/a>)<\/span><\/blockquote>\nWhile it\u2019s extremely virtuous to stack up on pages of Quran that you have recited, this doesn\u2019t take away from the importance of sitting back and simply reflecting on a few verses at a time.<\/span>\n\nNow, if you struggle to understand what certain verses mean, you can always read the translation. Better yet, you can take out the time this Ramadan to learn some Arabic words to increase your vocabulary and start understanding for yourself.<\/span>\n\nWe have always been in the situation where we\u2019re in Taraweeh (Night Prayers) during Ramadan and we start hearing the person next to us crying and you don\u2019t understand what the verses are and you start feeling guilty for not being able to cry and feel the same as that person.. So here\u2019s a tip to help solve that problem, before you attend Taraweeh prayers – try to find out what verses will be recited beforehand – so you can read the translation first. Understanding what the verses are about will make your heart soften in awe of Allah\u2019s might and mercy.<\/span>\n\nThe Prophet (\ufdfa) said, <\/span><\/i>\n
“The example of a believer who recites the Qur’an and acts on it, like a citron which tastes nice and smells nice. <\/span><\/i>\n\n(Bukhari<\/span><\/i><\/a>)<\/span><\/i><\/blockquote>\nThe only way we can act on the Quran is by understanding it and pondering over its meanings..<\/span><\/i>\n\nAs Allah says: <\/span>\n
